Janice Barnes will accept and train volunteers willing to devote two to four hours a week to making the genealogy department microfilm available to library patrons. The microfilm has been put into locked storage due to the increase in value it has attained since the courthouse fire. See the event schedule for times.

Lynn Weatherbe, a descendent of Philemon Vawter, who died in Madison on 15 Apr 1814, has donated a batch of old family photos. Most are unidentified, but they are likely associated with the Vawter/Snyder families of Milton, KY.

I believe the photo written on back as Grandpa Vawter is Achilles J Vawter born Sep 12, 1823 in Madison, IN and died Jan 13, 1886 in Indianapolis, IN. He had 3 wives so hard to say who "Grandma Vawter" is.
